WHAT IS KEY CLUB?

Key Club is the oldest and largest service organization for high school students. The institution incorporates volunteering, leadership, and socialization all into one experience, all the while simultaneously promoting community involvement as well as awareness in teenagers. Our motto is:

"Caring - our way of life."

Those who join Key Club gradually discover that they care about a lot more than just themselves; they realize that the environment, a neighbor, an animal, another human being, or our collective future are also worthwhile things to care and nurture.

Among the many things that characterize Key Club, one of the best aspects of the experience includes our amazing members and partners: the friends you will make and the people you will impact. When working alone, community service, while gratifying, can be arduous, tedious, maybe even dull; however, the KEY to making service an entertaining and social activity is to work with a diverse group of people who share your passion for service.

KEY CLUB AT CLACKAMAS

Clackamas High School’s Key Club is one of the largest and most active clubs in the Pacific Northwest. Our passion for service, driven by over two-hundred dedicated members, has allowed Key Club to make its precedence amongst the Cavaliers as the largest club at Clackamas High School. Our motto, while short and simple, manages to summarize everything that Key Club is:

"It's all about helping others!"

The service events we organize can impact our school, our local community, the nation, or even a foreign country. Such events include various fundraisers, elementary school carnivals, walk-a-thons, homeless feeds, school carnival, clean-ups, and many more. We also work with organizations such as United Cerebral Palsy (UCP), Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, and UNICEF.

What separates us from other service groups is that Key Clubbers develop an appreciation for values such as leadership and inclusiveness as they cooperate in the effort to serve, rather than simply chart service hours. Some of the most inspirational people in our community -and even throughout the Pacific Northwest- can be found right here in Key Club. Many of the friendships you develop in Key Club last a lifetime, not only because our members are unique and each amazing in their own way, but also because of the experiences you share together as you help others!

LOCAL KIWANIS

Our Kiwanis club sponsors our Key Club by assisting us in any need we may encounter. A major help that we receive from them is helping to pay for the our annual Service Project Winter Blitz. The Kiwanis club that assists us are the Kiwanis Club of Gladstone-Oak Grove.

The president's name is Jerry Deas. You can contact him at governorpnw2018@gmail.com if you are or know someone who is interested in the Kiwanis club in the Clackamas area.

THE THIRST PROJECT

The Thirst Project's main focus is to eliminate the global water crisis and educate others about waterborne illnesses. Did you know that a child dies every 21-seconds from a water-related disease? To help push towards our goal, us Key Clubbers build water projects all over the world to help those 663 million people in need have clean water to consume.

HELP END HUNGER

SEAD: END YOUTH HOMELESSNESS

The 2023-2024 Pacific Northwest Key Club District Project has started the SEAD: End Youth Homelessness initiative, chosen by this year's District Governor Nola Stenstrom and approved by the 2023-2024 District Board. This initiative goes beyond being a project; it’s a movement. Our goal for this District Project is to provide Key Clubbers and Kiwanians with the resources, knowledge, and inspiration to make an impact in their local communities to help end youth homelessness. Since the District Project isn’t partnering with one specific organization, every Key Clubber has the opportunity to directly impact their own community. This can be through volunteering at food banks, participating in homeless fundraisers, volunteering at homeless shelters, etc.

In every PNW Key Club Division, there are individuals facing hunger. Hunger disproportionately affects marginalized groups, specifically those who are Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC).

District Goal: Raise $15,000 and serve 10K hours
