Common Q&A
Q: What if I can't meet the 30 hours Active Term requirement?
A: No worries! Just keep in mind that the requirements to receive a senior cord during your senior year includes having 2 full terms. Even if you did not receive a full 30 hours for one term, the hours you have served can be transferred from all your terms in high school to add up to 2 full terms. Nothing happens to you as an individual member if you cannot make the 30 hours active term requirement- it is simply a set goal that is encouraged!
Q: Will I still be eligible for a Senior Cord if I do not have an active term?
A: On average, 60 hours (2 active terms) and a few other factors are required for receiving a senior cord. You will have all four years of High school to complete this. Once you are a senior, you may have the eligibility to request for hour transfers. (Note: we are flexible on the requirements so if you have a unique situation just reach out to us!)
